I began accidentally writing copy in 2002 while marketing my own vintage goods online. I sold that business five years later with the contingency; I continue to write the copy for one year. I had no idea that that’s what I had been doing the whole time; I was just trying to sell my stuff. After that ended, I was promptly lured into the exciting world of auto insurance, with the promise of a consistent paycheck and health benefits. After my partner’s death in 2013, I decided life was too short for having one’s soul sucked out by underwriting auto policies. I packed my practical nude pumps away and decided to dip my toes in the enticing waters of freelance copywriting.
